Hull to be promoted in the Big Apple to dynamic international business network

The Humber will be promoted to an international audience in New York next month.

World Trade Centre Hull & Humber is joining a global meeting of world trade centres in the city on December 12 – 14 to raise the profile of the region’s strengths and gain further intelligence on the international network.

Hannah Brigham and Mica Vine of Language is Everything, a World Trade Centre Hull & Humber partner, are travelling to the World Trade Centers Association in New York for the members’ seminar to find out how Humber businesses can further benefit from the 330-strong global network of world trade centres which are linked to more than 750,00 businesses.

During the two-day meeting, they will visit the World Trade Centre memorial site as well as the site earmarked for the new headquarters, which are currently in temporary accommodation on Lexington Avenue.

Miss Brigham, who has recently linked with a number of world trade centres around the globe to create new opportunities for the Humber, said: “We are part of a dynamic international network and we want to learn everything we can so that local businesses can make the most of having a world trade centre on their doorstep.

“We also want to play our part in putting an international spotlight on the Humber’s strengths to encourage inward investment.”

The two-day seminar includes sessions on global benchmarking, strategic planning and the exchanging of successful practices, with the best being presented with an award.

Prior to visiting New York, Hannah Brigham and Mica Vine are travelling to World Trade Centre Moscow to plan a Humber trade mission for 2012 and WTC Sao Paulo in Brazil as part of a trade mission with UK Trade & Investment.
